Had someone ask as to what purpose Absorbing Man serves in this Phoenix Force /destroy deck and the answer is pretty simple, I wanna destroy Venom by copying Venom’s own ability, then bring him back as Phoenix Force.

However even in instances where you don’t draw the Phoenix, abs Man still has his moments to shine. It seems that using him on Venom is almost always a solid option, for this deck at least, gives you a chance to revive venom but also keeps stacking power that you can eventually cap off with either task, knull or Arnim Zola.

And I just find that having absorbing man as my third destroy option is preferable to deathlok. Deathlok also has his moments but I personally favour absorbing man as he can give you a bunch of alternate options beyond just using him on Venom.

Oh also it’s worth remembering that phoenix is unable to revive wolverine, so u can basically play him out whenever and he just kinda helps with a lil extra power.

Anyway, as mentioned before, this deck iscurrently my fave deck with Phoenix. That said I kinda wanna go back to messing round with movement versions of it just to see. I’ve also heard that there’s a silver surfer version of the deck that sounds intriguing… Anyway
